Abel

Abel appears as the son of Adam and Eve, and Genesis presents him as a keeper of sheep while Cain worked the ground Genesis 4:1-2. His offering came from the firstborn of his flock, and Yahweh regarded Abel and his offering Genesis 4:3-5.

Cain killed Abel in the field after Yahweh warned him that sin was crouching at the door Genesis 4:6-8. Genesis places Abel before Seth, through whom the cited line continues from Adam Genesis 4:25.
