Absalom

Biography
Absalom was a son of David born in Hebron to Maacah daughter of Talmai king of Geshur . His sister Tamar was violated by Amnon, and Absalom later arranged Amnon's death after ordering his servants to strike him during a feast .
Absalom fled to Geshur and later returned to Jerusalem through Joab's intervention, but he did not see David's face until a later reconciliation . He then stole the hearts of the men of Israel by standing at the gate, hearing cases, and saying that no one had been appointed by the king to hear them .
The conspiracy was launched from Hebron, and David fled Jerusalem when the rebellion grew strong . Absalom died in the forest of Ephraim after his hair caught in an oak and Joab struck him while he was still alive . David mourned him with the cry, "my son Absalom" .
