Biography

Elijah the prophet appears as the Tishbite from Gilead, confronting Ahab with the word that rain will cease except by Yahweh's word .

He is fed by ravens, raises the widow's son, calls Israel to choose Yahweh at Carmel, and is later taken up while Elisha watches .
