Enoch son of Jared fathered Methuselah at 65 and lived 365 years . He walked with God, and he was not, because God took him .

Hebrews remembers Enoch as one who was taken so that he should not see death and as one who pleased God . Jude treats Enoch, the seventh from Adam, as a prophet who spoke judgment against ungodliness .

Luke places Enoch in the genealogy of Jesus between Jared and Methuselah . This Enoch is the Sethite line figure in Genesis 5, distinct from the Enoch named in Cain's city line in Genesis 4 .
